Piano Song Notes
How quickly will I learn piano song notes?
So I decided I would love to learn how to play the piano. I played the flute for about 4 months (having never played an instrument before) and my teacher said I was really good for being a beginner. So I'm hoping that I would learn piano easier too.

How long do you think it would take to learn how to play, and be able to know all about piano key notes etc. Not amazingly, but decent enough?? Would it be easy to pick up?
I'm 15 btw. :) Thanks!
The fact that you are playing the flute already is huge plus. I'm assuming then, that you know how to read music? So you are already many steps ahead - well done.
I teach and play both the flute and piano, and I'd have to say that the flute is easier to learn than the piano. Mainly because, on the piano, you are having to play and read piano song notes simultaneously with both hands. So it can be a little more challenging - but not necessarily hard for you to pick up.
The fact that you already know how to read music will mean that you will find learning piano less difficult than others who may not be able to read music at all. So yes, you could progress quite quickly, if you put in the time and commitment, and be able to play some easy piano songs in a relatively short period of time.
How about you try maybe 5 lessons with a teacher to see how you go? That way you'll get an idea of how you are going, and your teacher will also be able to give you some indication as to what kind of piano music you might be able to play, say in six months.
