F Major Scale


The F major scale has slightly different piano scale fingering than the others we've just covered (like C or G Major). My students always find this one a bit tricky!

This scale has one black note, the B flat.

How To Play The F Major Scale


Here is the piano scale fingering for the right hand:

  1. Thumb on F

  2. Finger #2 on G

  3. Finger #3 on A

  4. Finger#4 on Bflat

  5. - bring your thumb under your fourth finger -

  6. thumb on C

  7. Finger #2 on D

  8. Finger #3 on E

  9. Finger#4 on F

And the left hand piano scale fingering:

  1. Finger #5 (pinky) on F

  2. Finger #4 on G

  3. Finger #3 on A

  4. Finger #2 on Bflat

  5. thumb on C

  6. - bring your third finger over your thumb -

  7. Finger #3 on D

  8. Finger #2 on E

  9. Finger #1 on F
