E Major Scale


The E major scale has four black notes - F#, G#, C# and D#.

This might sound like alot of black notes, but this scale is actually quite fun to play. A happy, bright sounding scale.

How To Play This Scale


Here is how to play the E major scale with the right hand:

  1. Thumb on E

  2. Finger #2 on Fsharp

  3. Finger #3 on Gsharp

  4. - bring your thumb under your third finger -

  5. thumb on A

  6. Finger #2 on B

  7. Finger #3 on Csharp

  8. Finger#4 on Dsharp

  9. Finger #5 (pinky) on E

And the left hand piano scale fingering:

  1. Finger #5 (pinky) on E

  2. Finger #4 on Fsharp

  3. Finger #3 on Gsharp

  4. Finger #2 on A

  5. thumb on B

  6. - bring your third finger over your thumb -

  7. Finger #3 on Csharp

  8. Finger #2 on Dsharp

  9. Finger #1 on E
