Clavinova Digital Piano CLP 330 and CLP440Digital piano review and digital piano comparison: Yamaha Clavinova PianoInterested in the Clavinova Digital Piano range by Yamaha? Here are my recommendations on the best digital piano to buy in the CLP series.
The CLP330 and 340 are by far the most popular models. Yamaha piano prices: the CLP330 costs around US$2,200; the CLP340 is US$2,700.
The digital sound samples on these pianos have been taken from the Yamaha CFIIIS full concert grand, so there is a true, rich concert grand sound.
I loved how these pianos are really responsive and sensitive to my playing and hand movements.
Digital Piano Comparison - CLP330 and 340So what is the difference between the 330 and 340? Is it worth paying an extra $500 dollars for the more expensive model?
Yes...I think so, overall.
I have tested out both models; I think that overall, CLP340 is the best Clavinova model in terms of price and features - it has better speakers and better sound system. As far as the "authentic piano sound" and keyboard action goes, I actually prefer the CLP330 - but this is just my personal experience. The CLP340 is also very good, don't get me wrong; I felt that the 340 had a better response to expressive playing.
So they are both excellent digital pianos. I would recommend the 330 initially, and if you can afford it and want the 'step up' in speaker systems and features, the 340.
If you'd like to try different types of pianos for a comparison, an equivalent of the CLP340 would be the Roland HP-203. (Roland HP207 is also excellent but more pricey).
TIP: If you're looking for something more portable, you could try the P155, which has many of the features of the Clavinova but much lighter and compact.
